The Bears announced today that applications are now being accepted for a $103,000 grant through the Community All-Pros initiative, which began in 2019 in honor of the organization's centennial season. Fans are encouraged to share the grant application information with non-profits that they are passionate about. Charities located within the Bears' market will be eligible. Applications can be submitted online at ChicagoBears.com/CommunityAllPros today through Aug. 23. Charities will be reviewed by an independent internal committee and narrowed down to 10 finalists before a group of Season Ticket Holders selects the winner in November.
Last year, the Bears selected Chicago Youth Programs (CYP) as the 2021 Community All-Pros winner; they received a $102,000 grant from the organization. CYP improve the health and life opportunities of at-risk youth using a comprehensive approach aimed at developing their capabilities.
In 2019, the Bears recognized 10 different local charities nominated by fans, who each received a $100,000 Bears100 Community All-Pros grant, for a total of $1 million in donations. Recipients included: Habitat for Humanity Chicago, Easterseals of DuPage & Fox Valley, Chicago Furniture Bank, Blessings in a Backpack, Hephzibah Children’s Association, GiGi’s Playhouse, Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, Cradles to Crayons, Cara and Center for Enriched Living.
