The NFL has decided to once again put the Bears in the national primetime spotlight.
The league announced Wednesday that the Bears' game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Dec. 9 at Soldier Field will be flexed from noon (CT) to 7:20 p.m. (CT) on NBC. The contest pits two teams that are currently in first place in their respective divisions, the Bears at 6-3 in the NFC North and the Rams at 9-1 in the NFC West.
It's the Bears' second straight home game that's being flexed. The same move was made with this Sunday's battle for first place against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Bears are 16-23 all-time on Sunday Night Football. They lost their only appearance this year, falling to the Packers 24-23 in the season opener in Green Bay.
The Bears opened the 2018 season with two night games for the first time in franchise history. After losing to the Packers, they beat the Seahawks 24-17 on Monday Night Football Sept. 17 at Soldier Field. Those were the only two Bears games originally scheduled for primetime this year.
