Bears saw movie before road game

Traveling to California a day earlier than usual for last Sunday night's game against the 49ers gave the Bears a rare opportunity to take a field trip while on the road together.

About 25 players and staff members attended a special screening of the movie, "The Equalizer," at Camera 12 Cinemas Saturday afternoon following their walkthrough practice in San Jose.

Left tackle Jermon Bushrod, left guard Matt Slauson, center Roberto Garza, defensive end Willie Young and linebacker D.J. Williams were among the players who attended.

"The Equalizer" stars Denzel Washington. According to a summary on IMDb, the movie is about a man who "believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can't stand idly by—he has to help her."

The movie is scheduled to open in theaters Sept. 26.
