Chalk Talk: Who was Bears' comeback player of year?

Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.

Who do you think was the Bears' comeback player of the year this season?
Alan P.
Homewood, Illinois

To me, a "comeback player of the year," must be someone who's had success and then maybe was injured or benched, and then reverted to his previous form. The player who I feel best fits that narrative is receiver Allen Robinson II. After tearing his ACL in the 2017 season opener when he played for the Jaguars, Robinson rebounded in his first year with the Bears in 2018 to catch 55 passes for 754 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. He displayed the same playmaking ability that he had showed before his knee injury. Robinson was voted to the Pro Bowl in 2015 with the Jaguars when he caught 80 passes for 1,400 yards and 14 TDs. He followed in 2016 with 73 receptions for 883 yards and six touchdowns in 2016 before missing most of the 2017 season.

When is the last time the Bears faced both teams that reached the Super Bowl in a season as they did this year with the Rams and Patriots?
Bruce P.
Kenosha, Wisconsin

This year is the first time the Bears will have played both Super Bowl teams since 1991 when they lost in back-to-back weeks to the Bills and Redskins. This season the Bears beat the Rams 15-6 and lost to the Patriots 38-31, with both games being played at Soldier Field. The Bears will have played the Super Bowl champion four of the past five years. They lost to the Patriots in 2014, the Broncos in 2015 and the Eagles in 2017.

What pick in the first round of the draft did the Raiders end up getting from the Bears in the Khalil Mack trade?
Robert P.
Oak Lawn, Illinois

With the Bears losing in the wild-card round of the playoffs, the first-round pick they sent to the Raiders in the blockbuster trade for Khalil Mack will be the No. 24 selection. Here are the last five players selected in that spot in the draft, beginning with the most recent: Panthers receiver D.J. Moore (2018), Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley (2017), Bengals cornerback William Jackson (2016), Cardinals tackle D.J. Humphries (2015) and Bengals cornerback Darqueze Dennard (2014).
