Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of email questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.
I'm extremely excited and happy with the moves the Bears made at wide receiver. There's been a lot of talk about how Devin Hester, Earl Bennett and Brandon Marshall are going to have great years. I haven't heard much about Alshon Jeffery. How has he performed so far?

Rookie receiver Alshon Jeffery has performed well in the Bears' first two training camp practices. After the first workout Thursday, receivers coach Darryl Drake praised the second-round pick, saying that Jeffery did a "good job coming out of his breaks. He's got a big body, and as he learns to use that body consistently, he'll be a force to be reckoned with. But I was pleased with his effort and the way he came out and competed." Jeffery made an even bigger impact Friday, catching passes from Jason Campbell on four straight plays with the second-team offense at one point. The only negative was a fumble Thursday when safety Craig Steltz poked the ball out of Jeffery's hands after a reception.
I haven't read about any interceptions being made during the first few days of training camp. Have there been any at all?

There's only been one interception in 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills in the first two practices. It came Thursday when Charles Tillman picked off a Jay Cutler pass that caromed off Brandon Marshall.
I noticed in your "Inside Rookie Minicamp" video series that quarterback Matt Blanchard threw passes with his right hand but signed his contract with his left hand. Can he throw with either hand?

You are very observant. And yes, Matthew Blanchard can throw with either arm. The Bears rookie quarterback told me recently that he eats, writes and plays tennis with his left hand, while he throws a football, plays golf and bats right-handed in baseball/softball. Blanchard said that in previous years he's had a few injuries to his right arm and has thrown with his left in practice, but never in a game.
