What color jerseys will Bears wear Sunday?

Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of email questions from fans on ChicagoBears.com.

What color jersey will the Bears be wearing in Sunday's season opener and when will they be wearing their throwback jerseys this season?

Brandon P.
Austin, Texas

I've been getting a lot of different questions about the Bears' uniforms this season, so where is what I know: They will wear their regular navy jerseys in Sunday's opener against the Colts and in five other home games. The only exceptions will be when they wear their 1940s throwback jerseys Oct. 28 against the Panthers and Dec. 16 versus the Packers. The Bears will not wear orange jerseys this season. On the road, they will wear white jerseys in seven of eight games. The only exception will be when they wear navy Oct. 1 in a Monday Night Football game in Dallas. And finally, the Bears have no plans to wear the orange pants they apparently don in the latest Madden video game.

Is there any discussion from the Bears' brass concerning bringing Brandon Hardin back from Injured Reserve using the new rule?

Dan W.
Shelbyville, Indiana

Rookie safety Brandon Hardin is no longer eligible to be re-activated off the injured reserve list. The Bears had until 8 p.m. last Friday to do so. Moving forward, they will be permitted to label one player they place on IR from this point on as "designated for return." That individual would then be eligible to practice after six weeks on IR and return to the active roster following eight weeks on IR.

How many players remain on the Bears and Colts rosters from their Super Bowl match-up?

William S.
Rockford, Illinois

Eight Bears players remain from their 2006 Super Bowl team: Robbie Gould, Devin Hester, Charles Tillman, Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Roberto Garza, Patrick Mannelly and Israel Idonije. The Colts have five players left from their championship team: Adam Vinatieri, Antoine Bethea, Reggie Wayne, Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis.
