Dinner with the Docs
Monsters of the Midway, meet the Monsters of the Medical World! Bears Care hosted physicians and researchers from John J. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, NorthShore University HealthSystem, Northwestern Medicine, Rush University Medical Center, and University of Chicago Medicine for dinner at Halas Hall. With funds raised at the annual Bears Care Gala, Bears Care is proud to support breast and ovarian cancer research efforts at these institutions, and heard promising remarks about the progress of these projects.
Doby's Dream Foundation
Through his charity, Doby's Dream Foundation, Deon Bush distributed meals to clients at the Salvation Army Freedom Center in Humboldt Park. He also assisted with the children's meal program and activities.
Hicks Served Thanksgiving
Akiem Hicks and Eat Clean Chicago teamed up to host a special thanksgiving meal for families in need at the James R. Jordan Boys and Girls Club of Chicago. Families enjoyed a thanksgiving style meal while Hicks put on his chef hat and spent time with guests.
Campbells
Cody Whitehair and Bears alumnus Micky Pruitt joined football players from Taft High School to pack 480 boxes of food with donations from Campbells Chunky Soup and Pepperidge Farm. The food benefited the Salvation Army which will serve nearly 3,000 people this holiday season.
