Created by longtime USA Today NFL writer Larry Weisman in honor of unheralded former Chiefs defensive lineman Joe Phillips, the All-Joe team pays tribute to "first-rate players who receive second-rate recognition."
Idonije recorded 40 tackles, 7.5 sacks, one forced fumble and 11 quarterback pressures in 2012. In a Week 3 win over the St. Louis Rams at Soldier Field, he matched a career high with 2.5 sacks.
USA Today calls Idonije "the true unsung hero of Chicago's defense. His 7.5 sacks don't tell the tale of his total skill set, which includes a penchant for blocking kicks."
