Right guard Kyle Long has agreed to restructure his contract, a move that will benefit both the three-time Pro Bowler and the Bears.
The new deal will free up cap space for the Bears, showing that Long is a team player. The 6-6, 315-pounder will return for a seventh season with the team that selected him with the 20th pick in the first round of the 2013 draft out of Oregon.
Long started the first seven games in 2018 before injuring his foot Oct. 28 in a win over the Jets at Soldier Field. He missed eight contests before returning to start the Bears' regular-season finale in Minnesota and the wild-card playoff loss to the Eagles.
