General manager Ryan Poles spoke with Jeff Joniak Monday on the Bears pregame radio show on ESPN 1000 AM and 100.3 HD2 FM.

Poles discussed quarterback Justin Fields' impressive performance last Sunday against the Lions. In his return after missing four games with a dislocated right thumb, Fields posted a 105.2 passer rating, threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore and rushed for 104 yards, the most by an NFL quarterback this season.

"I was proud of him," Poles said. "He affected the game in many different ways. Obviously, he's special with his feet and running, but his ability really to press the line of scrimmage and use his arm and throw the ball and to create explosives was huge."

Poles also discussed a Bears running game that entered Week 12 ranked second in the NFL. D'Onta Foreman will miss Monday night's game with ankle and shin injuries, but expectations are high for Khalil Herbert, who makes his second straight appearance after missing five games with an ankle injury.

"Khalil should be feeling good now and getting back to his original form that he was at the beginning of the season," Poles said. "He had some explosive runs and did a good job for us. And Roschon [Johnson] now has had a lot of experience in the league and I look forward to him getting into a rhythm and running the ball as well."
