Pro Bowl Postcards: Montez Sweat | Friday, Feb. 2
As told to Gabby Hajduk
My first Pro Bowl has been such an enjoyable experience so far.
I've had a lot of fun catching up with my family and spending quality time with them. We all got here Tuesday night. My grandparents, my sister, my son, Shiloh, and some other family members were able to make the trip to Orlando.
We had the chance to go to Universal Studios Wednesday night for some Pro Bowl Games festivities that all the players and their families could attend. It was fun just going out with the group.
I went on some rides with my son and honestly it was a little scary. I was probably more scared than him and he's not even 2 years old yet. I definitely did not do any roller coasters, though. I'm not a fan of those. I like the movie rides — the ones that tell a story.
Hanging out with players from around the league has been a ball. I just feel honored and excited to be here with them.
You look left and right and there are superstars everywhere. I know most of the guys here from playing against them, but meeting them as people and seeing their personalities is interesting.
I've been able to catch up with some of my guys on the NFC side like Haason Reddick (Eagles outside linebacker), Danielle Hunter (Vikings outside linebacker) and Darius Slay (Eagles cornerback).
Even the retired guys who paved the way for us like DeMarcus Ware or Ray Lewis are here. I've been able to chop it up with them a little bit. It's been a blessing. They're just great people.
Today we started practice and it was nice just to get out here with my NFC teammates. It's definitely different since I'm not able to do my normal job — rushing the quarterback — so I'm just really spectating and hyping these boys up.
I just want to help my boys do what they gotta do so we can come out on the winning side of things.
This afternoon my family and I took another trip to Universal Studios for a private tour. Shiloh was super excited to go even though he probably doesn't actually know where he's at.
We started at Minion Land and visited the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and Illumination's Villain-Con Minion Blast. My family also went on the Revenge of the Mummy Ride while my son and I grabbed some snacks.
After hanging out at the park for a bit, we headed out to go grab dinner together. I've really just enjoyed my time in Orlando. I can't wait to see how the rest of the trip goes and for the NFC to come out on top Sunday.
