The Bears on Friday activated rookie offensive lineman Lachavious Simmons from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The seventh-round pick from Tennessee State had been placed on the COVID-19 list Nov. 8, hours before the Bears faced the Titans in Nashville.
The new reserve/COVID-19 roster designation was created this year for players who either test positive for COVID-19 or who have been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person.
Simmons spent the first eight weeks of the season on the Bears' practice squad before being promoted to the active roster Nov. 3.
