The third of ChicagoBears.com's five-part video series "Inside Rookie Minicamp" features first-year defensive coordinator Mel Tucker and linebackers Jon Bostic and Khaseem Greene.
In a sit-down interview during the segment, Tucker explains how the coaching staff keeps things simple at first with the rookies, focusing on "just the basics."
"We tell the guys right away our system and our foundation is based on technique and fundamentals; them playing smart, playing fast and playing physical," Tucker says. "So we want to keep it simple at first and make sure we don't assume anything with these guys."
"Inside Rookie Minicamp" gives fans unprecedented access to Bears players and coaches. Viewers are taken inside meeting rooms, the locker room, weight room, equipment room, lunch room and onto the practice field.
In the third part of the series, draft picks Bostic and Greene discuss the friendship they're developing.
"We ended up roommates right now at rookie minicamp," says Greene, a fourth-round choice from Rutgers. "We sit together. We eat together. We're just building that bond that you need.
"It's cool to have a guy like Jon around because he's a gamer, but off the field he's a great guy. He's a leader. We have some similar characteristics. We're definitely doing our fair share of bonding."
