Former Bears cornerback Zack Bowman has signed a one-year contract with the New York Giants.
Bowman, 29, spent his first six NFL seasons with the Bears after being selected in the fifth round of the 2008 draft out of Nebraska. He appeared in 73 games with 23 starts, recording 151 tackles, 10 interceptions, 23 pass breakups, five fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
Last year Bowman played in all 16 games with seven starts, registering 49 tackles and three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He was elevated into the starting lineup in November after Charles Tillman was lost for the season with a torn triceps.
The Bears have re-signed five cornerbacks since the end of the 2013 season: Tillman, Tim Jennings, Kelvin Hayden, Sherrick McManis and Derrick Martin.
