Following a Redskins field goal by Kai Forbath to open the game, Robbie Gould's 47-yard field goal tied the score 3-3 midway through the first quarter.

Charles Tillman intercepted a Robert Griffin III pass and returned it 28 yards to the Washington 10. It was the Bears' only takeaway of the game.

Roy Helu Jr.'s 14-yard TD run up the middle tied the game 10-10.

Jay Cutler's pass deflected off Alshon Jeffery and was intercepted by Brian Orakpo, who returned it 29 yards for a touchdown, giving the Redskins 14 points in :17 and a 17-10 lead.

Jay Cutler was knocked out of the game with a groin injury when he was sacked by Chris Baker with 9:56 left in the second quarter.

Robbie Gould's 49-yard field goal drew the Bears to within 38-34 with 8:39 to play.

Josh McCown's 7-yard TD pass to Martellus Bennett gave the Bears a 41-38 lead with 3:57 remaining.

Excelling in relief of the injured Jay Cutler, Josh McCown completed 14 of 20 passes for 204 yards with 1 TD, no interceptions and a 119.6 passer rating.

The Redskins scored the game-winning touchdown on Roy Helu Jr.'s 3-yard run with :45 to play.
