The Bears played their first road game of the season Sunday night at Heinz Field, traveling to Pittsburgh for the first time since a 2005 loss to the Steelers.

Jay Cutler completed 8 of 10 passes for 45 yards on the game's opening possession after the Steelers had won the coin flip and deferred until the second half.

Robbie Gould capped the opening drive with a 47-yard field goal, giving the Bears a 3-0 lead with 8:02 left in the first quarter.

On the Steelers' third play from scrimmage, D.J. Williams sacked Ben Roethlisberger on a blitz, forcing a fumble that James Anderson recovered at the Pittsburgh 17.

The Bears converted the turnover into Matt Forte's 5-yard touchdown run, extending their lead to 10-0 with 5:05 left in the first quarter.

Matt Forte's 55-yard run on the Bears' next possession set up Michael Bush's 1-yard touchdown plunge, which made the score 17-0 late in the opening period.

Ben Roethlisberger's 45-yard pass to Antonio Brown led to Shaun Suisham's 27-yard field goal as the Steelers cut the deficit to 17-3 early in the second quarter.

The Bears defense made another huge play as Major Wright intercepted a Ben Roethlisberger pass and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown, increasing his team's lead to 24-3.

Matt Forte rushed for 74 of his game-high 87 yards on nine carries in the first half. His 55-yard run was the fourth longest of his career.

The Bears defense generated its third takeaway on the second play of the second half as Major Wright stripped Felix Jones and Henry Melton recovered the fumble at the Pittsburgh 29.

The Bears converted the turnover into Robbie Gould's 32-yard field goal to take a seemingly safe 27-10 lead, but the Steelers would rally.

Following a Steelers field goal, Ben Roethlisberger wasted little time putting more points on the board, capping a 3-play, 69-yard drive with a 21-yard TD pass to Antonio Brown, closing the gap to 27-20.

After another Steelers field goal, the Bears responded as Earl Bennett made a spectacular 17-yard touchdown catch from Jay Cutler in the left corner of the end zone to give his team a more comfortable 34-23 lead.

Jay Cutler converted 3 of 3 third-down plays on the scoring drive, including a 13-yard scramble on third-and-10 and a 41-yard pass to Brandon Marshall on third-and-12.

The Bears defense added some insurance with its second TD of the game as Lance Briggs sacked Ben Roethlisberger, forcing a fumble that Julius Peppers returned 42 yards for a score to make it 40-23.

Chris Conte capped an impressive performance by the defense with the unit's fifth takeaway when he intercepted a Ben Roethlisberger pass in the waning moments.

With the win, the Bears improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2010 and maintained sole possession of first place in the NFC North, one game ahead of the Lions (2-1).
