Top 10: Rookie performances
Still in awe of what running back Jeremy Langford did in Sunday's game against the Rams, web writer Eli Kaberon picks his top 10 single-game performances by Bears rookies.

In his first-ever game, Forte showed his skill, running for 123 yards - including a 50-yard touchdown in the first quarter - helping the Bears top the Colts 29-13.

Despite throwing just 23 times, Avellini had 268 yards through the air and three touchdowns, helping Chicago to a 42-17 win.

In one of the best all-around performances ever for a Bears rookie, Langford had 73 rushing yards and 109 receiving yards, along with two touchdowns, in Chicago's big win.

Washington quarterback Mark Rypien may still be having nightmares about the Chicago safety. Carrier intercepted Rypien three times, which tied a Bears single-game record.

Hester had 225 kickoff return yards, which at the time was a franchise record, in a blowout win over the Rams. That included touchdown returns of 94 and 96 yards.

McNown threw for 301 yards and four touchdowns - both Bears rookie single-game records - in a 28-10 victory over Detroit.

The A-Train has three of the four highest rushing totals for a Bears rookie, but this 24-0 win in Cincinnati is the best. Thomas ran for 188 yards on 22 carries, including a 23-yard touchdown.

In a hard-fought game against the Packers, Ditka had nine receptions for a rookie franchise record 190 yards. Three of those catches went for touchdowns, though Green Bay emerged victorious.

Payton touched the ball 30 times against the Saints and had 196 yards from scrimmage (134 rushing, 62 receiving), along with a touchdown in Chicago's 42-17 win.

Sayers set an NFL record that still stands to this day, scoring six touchdowns in a 61-20 victory over the 49ers. Four of the scores came rushing, one receiving and one on a punt return for Sayers.
