Declan Doyle joins the Bears in 2025 as offensive coordinator.
Doyle assumes the role of offensive coordinator after most recently leading the tight ends group of the Denver Broncos (2023-24). This past season, Doyle's work with the Broncos tight ends served as a beneficiary for the development of rookie quarterback Bo Nix, as the Broncos reached the postseason after ranking top-10 in the NFL in points per game (25.0, 10th) and red-zone touchdown percentage (62.5, 7th). Doyle's first season in Denver included aiding Head Coach Sean Payton's staff that helped the Broncos secure the most wins by the franchise in a single season since 2016.
Prior to Denver, Doyle spent four years as an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints (2019-22). Over his four seasons with New Orleans, the Saints totaled a 41-25 (.621) record, securing NFC South Division titles in each of his first two seasons. Doyle supported an offense that totaled eight players being named to a combined 12 Pro Bowls over the four seasons.
Over his first two seasons in New Orleans, the Saints averaged 28.3 offensive points per game in the two-year span, the second-best rate among all NFL offenses. Doyle's assistance with the offense in 2020 helped New Orleans average 30.1 points per game, the fifth-best mark in the NFL, as the Saints amassed a league-leading 30 rushing touchdowns, setting a single-season franchise record. The Saints averaged 28.6 points per game in 2019, tied for the third-best rate in the NFL, owning the seventh-best passing offense in the league (265.3). New Orleans also ranked top-10 in the league in yards per play (5.92, sixth) and first downs per game (21.7, eighth), as the Saints turned the ball over just eight times on offense the entire season, the then-lowest single-season mark by an NFL team since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970 (Buffalo, 2024).
Prior to breaking into the NFL coaching ranks, Doyle spent three years as an offensive student assistant at the University of Iowa (2016-18). Doyle's responsibilities included aiding Iowa's staff with practice execution and film breakdown of upcoming opponents for the preparation of the offensive staff. Over his three seasons on staff at Iowa, the Hawkeyes posted a combined 25-14 (.641) record and finished with a winning record in each season, participating in three-straight bowl games.
A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Doyle earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Iowa in 2018. Before transferring to Iowa, Doyle played baseball at Iowa Western Community College, where he was a team captain (2015).
