Robbie Picazo enters his second season with the Bears.
Picazo owns 12 years of coaching experience, including three years in the NFL and nine at the collegiate level. Picazo came to the Bears after spending the previous two seasons as an offensive assistant with the Seattle Seahawks (2023) and Houston Texans (2022).
In 2024, Picazo helped QB Caleb Williams break the Bears rookie records in every major passing statistic. Williams threw just seven interceptions during his rookie campaign, tying the franchise record for fewest interceptions thrown in a season (min. 10 QB starts), it was also the fourth fewest by a rookie QB in NFL history (min. 13 QB starts). Picazo also helped lead a wide receiver room that produced three players with at least 700 receiving yards; WR DJ Moore (966), WR Keenan Allen (744) and rookie WR Rome Odunze (734).
Prior to his time in the NFL, Picazo spent four seasons with the Rice Owls in various roles. In his second season leading Rice's running backs in 2021, Picazo helped sixth-year senior tight end Jordan Myers earn honorable mention All-Conference USA honors after leading the team with nine total touchdowns and rank second with 646 all-purpose yards. Myers led the Owls with eight rushing scores and recorded 338 rushing yards on the year,). Former walk-on Ari Broussard added 569 yards on 116 carries, including a career-high 186 yards at Charlotte (11/6) that marked the program's second-highest total in conference play since joining C-USA in 2005.
Picazo came to Rice after five seasons (2013-17) at Stanford, first as a student assistant (2013) while completing his co-term degree program and four years (2014-17) as an offensive assistant, working with quarterbacks and wide receivers. Picazo supported the daily operations of the offense as the Cardinal won two Pac-12 titles (2013 and 2015) and appeared in five consecutive bowl games.
While coaching at Stanford in 2017, Picazo participated in a Bill Walsh NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship with the Atlanta Falcons during the team's mandatory spring minicamp.
Picazo attended Stanford University where he earned a bachelor's degree in management, science and engineering in 2013 and a master's degree in psychology in 2014. He played quarterback for the Cardinal from 2009-12, appearing in four games.
Picazo and his wife, Kaitlyn, have a daughter, Payton.
