Offensive quality control coach Zach Cable enters his second season with the Bears in 2024. Cable possesses five years of coaching experience, including four seasons in the NFL.
In 2023, Cable helped the Bears record 2,399 rushing yards on the season, ranking second amongst all NFL teams. Collectively, the Bears ranked tied for first in big plays rushing (10+ yards) with 74, second in rushing yards per game (141.1), fifth in rushing first downs (137) and sixth in yards per carry (4.49).
Before joining the Bears, Cable worked as the outside linebackers coach at the University of Northern Colorado during the 2022 season. Prior to that, he gained his first years of NFL experience working as an offensive and defensive assistant with the Raiders from 2018-21, where he worked with the offensive line, tight ends and linebackers, including All-Pro tight end Darren Waller, linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski and linebacker Cory Littleton. In his final season in Las Vegas in 2021, the Raiders qualified for the playoffs for the second time since the 2003 season.
Cable played defensive lineman at the University of Idaho and was a three-year starter and two-time captain in 2016 and 2017. He graduated from Idaho with degrees in Organizational Sciences and General Studies with a minor in Psychology. He is the son of former NFL coach Tom Cable.
