Kiran Amegadjie

The Bears selected Yale offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie with the 75th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.

A 6-5, 326-pounder, Amegadjie comes to Chicago following a three-year stay in New Haven where he appeared and started in 24 games for the Bulldogs. While playing tackle, he did not allow a single sack. During his time at Yale, the Bulldogs went 20-10 and won at least a share of the Ivy League Conference Title twice.

DRAFT NOTES

• Amegadjie is the sixth player from Yale to be drafted by the Bears, and the first since fullback Dick Niglio in 1964.
• He is the 51st player from Yale to be selected in the NFL Draft since 1936 and the 26th in the Common Draft Era (since 1967). Amegadjie is the highest-drafted Bulldog since linebacker Jeff Rohrer was taken by the Cowboys in the second round of the 1982 Draft.
• Amegadjie is the sixth offensive lineman drafted by general manager Ryan Poles, joining Braxton Jones (2022), Ja'Tyre Carter (2022), Zachary Thomas (2022), Doug Kramer Jr. (2022) and Darnell Wright (2023).

• Amegadjie played in four games at left tackle as a junior in 2023. Despite injury, he earned Third-Team All-American honors from Stats Perform and was a First-Team All-Ivy League selection for two straight seasons. He was also selected as the Ivy League's offensive lineman of the year by Phil Steele.
• As a sophomore, he started in all 10 games at left tackle and was part of a line that helped the Bulldogs lead the Ivy League in total rushing yards (2,325) and total offense (4,125).
• Amegadjie was named an All-Ivy Honorable Mention as a freshman in 2021 after starting every game at right guard. He earned The Charles Loftus Award, recognizing the most valuable freshman on the team.
• True freshman season was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Chose Yale over offers from Central Michigan, Indiana State and Southern Illinois.

AT HINSDALE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

• Amegadjie was a two-star recruit out of high school. He was ranked in the top 300 offensive linemen in the Class of 2020 by 247Sports.com.
• He helped lead Hinsdale Central to 25 wins in his last three seasons.
• Amegadjie did not play football until sophomore year of high school.
• He also played basketball at Hinsdale Central.

• Son of Gislaine and Boris Amegadjie.
• Father, Boris, grew up in the West African nation of Togo and played soccer in college in France before moving to the United States to continue his studies.
• His mother, Gislaine, is from Cameroon in Central Africa and lived in Canada before moving to the United States.
