Bears put McPhee on injured reserve

The Bears on Wednesday placed outside linebacker Pernell McPhee on injured reserve.

McPhee hurt his shoulder Dec. 3 against the 49ers, missed the following week's game versus the Bengals and then was forced to exit last Saturday's loss to the Lions after aggravating it.

McPhee becomes the 15th player on the Bears injured reserve list. He appeared in 13 games with five starts this season, recording 22 tackles, four sacks, five tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

The Bears filled McPhee's spot on their 53-man roster by promoting linebacker Jonathan Anderson from the practice squad. The third-year pro from TCU has played in 10 games this season, registering four tackles.

The Bears on Wednesday also signed receiver Mekale McKay to their practice squad.
