The Bears on Thursday re-signed safety Chris Prosinski and waived linebacker Howard Jones.
Prosinski spent the past two seasons with the Bears, appearing in 29 games with six starts and recording 47 tackles, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and 16 special-teams tackles. He spent the offseason with the Bears, but was placed on injured reserve Sept. 2 and released Sept. 4.
Prosinski, 30, was selected by the Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2011 draft out of Wyoming, where he played with Bears defensive end Mitch Unrein. Prosinski spent three-and-a-half seasons with Jacksonville before joining the Eagles in November 2014.
Jones was signed to the Bears practice squad Oct. 6. He was promoted to the 53-man roster last Thursday and played on special teams in last Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
Jones, 27, spent the past two seasons with the Buccaneers, appearing in 20 games with five starts and registering 16 tackles, five sacks and one forced fumble. He entered the NFL with the Steelers in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from Shepherd University.
