On New York's second offensive snap, Ryan Mundy intercepted Geno Smith's screen pass and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown, giving the Bears a 7-0 lead just 32 seconds into the game.

Ahmad Dixon falls on a muffed punt return by the Jets' Jalen Saunders, extending Chicago's offensive drive.

Jay Cutler escaped the Jets pass rush and found Martellus Bennett in the end zone, extending the Bears lead to 14-0.

Midway through the first quarter, Bears rookie defensive tackle Ego Ferguson ripped through the offensive line and took down Smith for his first career sack.

Robbie Gould responds to Nick Folk's 43-yard field goal with a 24-yard field goal of his own to make it 17-3.

A 28-yard field goal, followed by a 19-yard touchdown to Jeremy Kerley cut Chicago's lead to 17-13.

Cutler is sacked by Jets linebacker Davis Harris. After a challenge flag is thrown, it is determined Cutler fumbled before hitting the ground, giving the ball to New York.

On the second offensive snap of the second half, Cutler hits Alshon Jeffery deep down the sideline for a 42-yard gain.

The Bears finish off that drive with seven more points, as Martellus Bennett scores his second touchdown of the game, on a 13-yard pass from Cutler.

New York mounts a strong drive, but cornerback Kyle Fuller picks off Smith in the end zone. It is the rookie's third interception in the last two games.

Behind the running of Chris Ivory and accurate passing from Smith, the Jets tack on a pair of field goals to make it 24-19 midway through the fourth quarter.

Facing an all-out blitz on 3rd-and-9, Cutler buys time and hits Jeffery for an 11-yard gain to move the chains and extend the drive.

Gould finishes the drive with three points on a 45-yard field goal, extending the Bears lead to 27-19 with 3:14 remaining in the fourth.

Looking to tie the game, Smith hits Greg Salas for a 51-yard reception, putting the ball in the Bears red zone.

On 4th-and-9 from the Chicago 9-yard line, Smith's throw to Kerley is out of bounds, giving the Bears possession to run out the remainder of the clock.

Comments: "Despite playing with a hobbled Brandon Marshall and a depleted secondary, the Bears won the battle of mistakes and escaped Monday night's game with a victory. In the process, rookie CB Kyle Fuller had another impressive game with one interception, one forced fumble that wasn't recovered by the defense and another near interception. At the same time, the Bears suffered more injuries to what was already the league's thinnest secondary and this is a major issue going forward." - Dan Schneier

Not sure how many of you are on LinkedIn ... but if you know any defensive backs looking for work, pass their profiles along to the Bears' coaching staff, because they are seriously hurtin' for some healthy bodies." - Elliot Harrison
