Inside linebacker Christian Jones is returning for a second stint with the Bears after signing a one-year contract Tuesday.
Jones spent his first four NFL seasons in Chicago after arriving in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from Florida State. He appeared in 63 games with 31 starts for the Bears, registering 262 tackles, 4.0 sacks, 10 tackles-for-loss, eight pass breakups and nine quarterback hits.
Jones then signed with the Lions in 2018 and spent the past three seasons in Detroit, recording 177 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 7.0 tackles-for-loss, eight pass breakups and eight quarterback hits while starting 42 of 45 games played.
The 90 tackles and 5.0 tackles-for-loss Jones compiled in his final season with the Bears in 2017 remain his career highs in both categories. Last year with the Lions, the Florida native played in all 16 games with 13 starts and amassed 57 tackles and 2.0 tackles-for-loss.
