The Bears on Thursday claimed receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette off waivers from the Vikings.
Smith-Marsette was selected by Minnesota in the fifth round of the 2021 draft out of Iowa. As a rookie, he appeared in eight games with one start and caught five passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Most of that production came in the season finale against the Bears, when Smith-Marsette had three receptions passes for 103 yards, including a 44-yard TD.
He was waived by the Vikings Wednesday after Minnesota acquired receiver Jalen Reagor in a trade with the Eagles. With the Bears, Smith-Marsette takes the roster spot of receiver N'Keal Harry, who was placed on injured reserve earlier Thursday.
