The Bears on Wednesday placed right tackle Larry Borom on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
A rookie fifth-round draft pick from Missouri, Borom has performed well while starting the last five games.
This is the third straight day the Bears have put a player or players on the COVID-19 list: defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. Monday and nose tackle Eddie Goldman, cornerback Artie Burns and practice squad outside linebacker Sam Kamara Tuesday. A sixth player, tackle Elijah Wilkinson, has been on the COVID-19 list since Nov. 26.
The roster designation was created last year for players who either test positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with an infected person.
The Bears on Wednesday also signed cornerback Thakarius "Bopete" Keyes to their practice squad. Keyes was selected by the Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2020 draft out of Tulane, where he played with Bears receiver Darnell Mooney. Keyes appeared in eight games with one start as a rookie, recording eight tackles. He was waived by Kansas City as part of final cuts this summer and claimed the next day by the Colts. Keyes played in four contests with Indianapolis before being waived Nov. 22.
