The Bears on Tuesday signed linebacker Noah Dawkins. Dawkins, 24, has appeared in 17 NFL games over three seasons with the Buccaneers (2019) and Jets (2020-21). He played in two games for New York during the 2021 season, where he compiled two tackles.
Dawkins was signed by the Bengals in May 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of The Citadel, where he was named first-team All-Southern Conference as a senior after compiling 66 tackles and 13.5 tackles-for-loss and leading the team with 5.5 sacks. The 6-foot-1, 235-pounder was signed to Cincinnati's practice squad following training camp before he was signed to the Buccaneers' active roster on Oct. 9, 2019. He played in 10 games for Tampa Bay during the 2019 season.
Dawkins was waived by the Buccaneers on Sept. 5, 2020 before being signed to the Jets practice squad. He was elevated to New York's active roster for the final five games of the 2020 season and recorded one tackle in those contests.
