The Bears on Saturday placed rookie tackle Larry Borom on injured reserve and flexed defensive tackle Margus Hunt and offensive tackle Alex Taylor from the practice squad to the active roster.
Borom injured his ankle in last Sunday night's season-opening loss to the Rams. Being placed on injured reserve means that the fifth-round pick from Missouri will miss a minimum of three games. Borom will be eligible to return Oct. 10 when the Bears visit the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Bears signed Hunt to their practice squad Sept. 8. Born in Estonia, he has appeared in 104 NFL games with 26 starts in nine seasons with the Bengals (2013-16 and 2020), Colts (2017-19) and Saints (2020), registering 114 tackles, 26 tackles-for-loss and 8.5 sacks. The 6-8, 295-pounder was selected by Cincinnati in the second round of the 2013 draft out of SMU.
The Bears signed Taylor to their practice squad on Wednesday. The 6-8, 301-pounder appeared in one game with the Browns last season. He spent his first two years of college playing basketball at South Carolina State before switching to football as a junior.
