The Bears on Sunday signed offensive lineman Tommy Doles and defensive end Jalen Dalton and waived kickers Redford Jones and John Baron, defensive end Lawrence Marshall and safety Adarius Pickett.
All six players participated in this weekend's rookie minicamp.
Doles was Northwestern's starting right guard each of the past three seasons. In 2018, the 6-4, 296-pounder helped the Wildcats win the Big Ten West Division title. He was voted Academic All-Big Ten last year and is currently enrolled in the Kellogg Master's of Management Studies program.
Dalton appeared in 37 games the past four years at North Carolina, registering 92 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 15.0 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Last year he recorded a career-high 3.5 sacks in seven games. Dalton teamed with Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky with the Tar Heels in 2015-16.
Baron, Marshall and Pickett had signed with the Bears last Thursday as undrafted free agents. Jones had joined the team Jan. 28.
