The Bears on Monday waived nine players: Receivers John Jackson and Peter LeBlanc, offensive linemen Ja'Tyre Carter and Jerome Carvin, defensive linemen Michael Dwumfour and Jaylon Hutchings, linebackers Paul Moala and Javin White, and safety Quindell Johnson.
Only two of the nine have appeared in a regular-season game with the Bears. A 2022 seventh-round draft pick from Southern, Carter played in three games as a rookie and appeared in 10 games with two starts last season. Johnson played in nine contests last year, all as a reserve, and intercepted a Blaine Gabbert pass in a Week 3 loss to the Chiefs.
The Bears roster now stands at 78, meaning they must release 25 players by 3 p.m. CT Tuesday to reach the NFL's mandatory 53-man limit.
