The Bears (3-3) will look to snap a two-game losing streak Sunday when they host the New York Jets at Soldier Field. The Bears dropped from first place in the NFC North into a third-place tie with the Lions with last Sunday's 38-31 loss to the Patriots.
The Bears and Lions trail the Vikings (4-2-1) and Packers (3-2-1) in the division. Also on Sunday, Minnesota hosts the Saints (5-1), Green Bay visits the Rams (7-0) and Detroit hosts the Seahawks (3-3).
The Jets (3-4), meanwhile, head to Chicago after playing three straight home games. They lost to the Vikings 37-17 last Sunday after recording back-to-back wins over the Broncos, 34-16, and Colts, 42-34.
Still on a roll
Over their last three games, the Bears are averaging 35.7 points, have scored 14 total touchdowns and have generated 1,403 total yards. The offense has produced 12 pass plays of 25 yards or longer and 12 rushes of 10 yards or longer. The 107 points the Bears have scored the past three games are their most since scoring 112 in Weeks 2-4 in 1989.
Over the last three games, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has totaled 1,184 yards of offense and has accounted for 12 TDs. He has passed for 1,003 yards, with 11 TDs and 3 interceptions and a 115.9 rating and has rushed for 181 yards and one TD on 17 carries.
Trubisky's 11 TD passes over the past three games are the third most over a three-game span in Bears history. Hall of Famer Sid Luckman had 12 on two separate occasions in 1943.
In addition, Trubisky ranks second in the NFL with 245 rushing yards among quarterbacks, trailing only Carolina's Cam Newton (257).
Talking defense
The Bears are tied for first in the NFL with 11 interceptions on the season and have recorded at least one interception in each of their first six games.
The Bears are the only team in the NFL to not allow a rushing TD this season.
The Bears are tied for second in the NFL with a plus-7 turnover ratio and lead the NFL with 65 points scored off of their 17 takeaways. Their 17 takeaways rank second in the league.
Numbers game
The Bears enter Week 8 ranked 11th in offense in the NFL (6th rushing and 20th passing) and 12th in defense (4th against the run and 18th versus the pass. The Jets rank 26th in offense (12th rushing and 27th passing) and 20th in defense (21st rushing and 26th passing).
Talk show
Bears coach Matt Nagy will address the media Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Trubisky will speak Wednesday, while offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and special-teams coordinator Chris Tabor will talk Thursday.
Throwback time
With the Bears wearing their 1940s throwback uniforms Sunday, current players were asked to name their favorite ex-Bears player. Devin Hester was the runaway leader with 16, followed by Walter Payton (9), Charles Tillman (5) and Brian Urlacher (4).
