Top 10: Bears records least likely to be broken
Senior writer Larry Mayer ranks the top 10 individual Bears records most unlikely to be broken:

(10) Charles Tillman: four forced fumbles in a game
Tillman shifted the "Peanut Punch" into overdrive in a 2012 game in Tennessee, forcing four fumbles, the most by any player since the NFL began tracking the stat in 1991.

(9) Dick Butkus: 25 fumble recoveries
The most ferocious defensive player in NFL history (IMO) had a nose for the football; maybe it came from his days as a star center at the University of Illinois.

(8) Bill Wade-to-Bo Farrington: 98-yard TD pass
Wade's 98-yard completion came in his first start as Bears quarterback on Oct. 8, 1961 in Detroit. Think Mitchell Trubisky has a 99-yarder in him? Only time will tell.

(7) Nathan Vasher: 108-yard TD return of missed field goal
Vasher's 108-yard TD return in 2005 was matched by teammate Devin Hester a year later, but it's hard to imagine anyone topping their mark with a 109-yarder. That's a challenge to you, Tarik Cohen and Cordarrelle Patterson.

(6) Steve McMichael: 191 consecutive games
Tougher than a $3 steak, Mongo never missed a game during his final 11 games with the Bears. McMichael also ranks second in Bears history with 92.5 sacks.

(5) Gale Sayers: 6 TDs in a game., 22 TDs in a season
The Kansas Comet tied an NFL record with six touchdowns in a rout of the 49ers as part of a 22-TD rookie season in 1965. No other Bears player has scored more than 16 TDs.

(4) Patrick Mannelly: 245 games, 16 seasons
No Bears player will ever have a better mullet—and none will probably appear in as many games or seasons as the former long-snapper. Mannelly played 54 more games than any other Bear—more than three full seasons.

(3) Devin Hester: 18 kick return TDs, 13 punt return TDs
Hester rewrote the NFL record books and should be the next Bears player inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. No other Bears player has more than eight return TDs.

(2) Walter Payton: 16,726 yards rushing, 77 100-yard games
Sweetness holds several records that likely will never be broken, But his 16,726 yards is probably the most untouchable. Matt Forte is second with 8,602.

(1) George Halas: 40 seasons as head coach
Papa Bear compiled a 318-148-31 record in four separate 10-year stints as coach of the team he founded. Mike Ditka is second with 11 seasons.
