Top 10: Trick (or treat) plays
In the spirit of Halloween, ChicagoBears.com ranks the 10 best trick plays in Bears history and the treat that came as a result of them.

1 / 10
- Adrian Peterson's halfback pass - December 30, 2007. In a Week 17 game versus the Saints, the Bears called a halfback option play for running back Adrian Peterson. When the defense went for him, Peterson threw to a wide-open Bernard Berrian for a 9-yard touchdown.

2 / 10
- Fake punt for big yardage - October 25, 1992. The Bears used some deception in a 30-10 win versus the Packers. The Bears lined up to punt, but the Packers didn't see running back Mark Green standing in-bounds along the sideline. Punter Chris Gardocki - a high school quarterback - took the snap and threw to Green for a 46-yard gain.

3 / 10
- Surprise onside kick - December 20, 2015. Onside kicks aren't only for end-of-game desperation. Coming out of halftime versus the Vikings last season, the Bears caught their opponents off guard, as Robbie Gould lightly tapped the ball and Sherrick McManis scooped it up for the Chicago recovery.

4 / 10
- Curtis Conway throws a bomb - September 2, 1996. In the season opener versus the defending-champion Cowboys, the Bears pulled off a Monday-night shocker. Wide receiver Curtis Conway played a big role, taking a reverse handoff before throwing a 33-yard touchdown to Raymont Harris.

5 / 10
- Gale Sayers throws a touchdown - October 10, 1965. As a rookie in 1965, Gale Sayers was a first-team All-Pro with 14 rushing and six receiving touchdowns. He also had an arm, throwing for a 26-yard touchdown to Dick Gordon on a trick play in a win over the Rams.

6 / 10
- Ahmad Merritt scores on end-around - January 19, 2002. In the NFC Divisional Playoff game versus the Eagles, the Bears used some trickery to find the end zone. Wide receiver Ahmad Merit went in motion and took a handoff from QB Shane Matthews, then dashed up the sideline for a 47-yard touchdown.

7 / 10
- Punt return confusion - September 25, 2011. The Bears pulled off one of the all-time great fake punts - though it didn't count. On a high punt, returner Devin Hester went to the right sideline as the Packers' coverage team followed him. Hester called for a fair catch; the ball, however, was on the left side of the field in the arms of Johnny Knox, who ran in for an 89-yard touchdown. Unfortunately a holding penalty negated the score.

8 / 10
- Booker goes deep - November 10, 2002. Marty Booker was a high school quarterback before becoming an NFL receiver, and he showed his arm strength in a game versus New England. Booker took an end-around handoff, but instead of running, he threw a strike to Marcus Robinson for a 44-yard touchdown.

9 / 10
- Urlacher scores the game-winner - December 23, 2001. Trailing by 3 in the fourth quarter, the Bears used some trickery to topple the Redskins. Chicago lined up for a 44-yard field goal, but had no intention of kicking. Holder Brad Maynard took the snap, rolled out and hit Brian Urlacher for a wide-open touchdown that gave the Bears the lead and ultimately the victory in Washington.

10 / 10
- Sweetness to McMahon - September 29, 1985. Walter Payton threw nine touchdowns during his career, including a pair of throws longer than 50 yards. Most of his throws were to receivers, but versus Washington, he took a pitch and then threw back to quarterback Jim McMahon for an easy 13-yard touchdown.
