Biography
PRO CAREER:
- Drafted by the Bears in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft (No. 48 overall)
- Started in all 30 games appeared in, totaling 208 tackles (139 solo), seven quarterback hits, eight tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries
- Since entering the league, ranks eighth in the league in total tackles among defensive backs
2023 SEASON (BEARS):
- Started in all 15 games appeared in
- Recorded 105 tackles (66 solo) with nine passes defensed, three quarterback hits, one interception, 1.0 sack, and two forced fumbles
- Had at least five tackles in 13 games
- Notched first sack of the season in Week 6 against the Vikings
- Led all Bears defenders in tackles (10) and recorded fifth pass defensed in Week 7 against the Raiders
- Tallied 150th-career tackle and 100th-career solo tackle in Week 10 against the Panthers
- Recorded first interception of season in Week 12 against Vikings
- In Week 13 vs. Detroit, he led the Bears in tackles with 17 (13 solo), a career-high
- Was the most tackles by a defensive back in a single game this season and by a Bears defensive back since the 1960 NFL-AFL Merger
- Also recorded two passes defensed and a forced fumble
- Notched the 200th tackle of his career in Week 17 against the Falcons

2022 SEASON (Bears):
- Made the start at safety in his first NFL game in the Week 1 victory vs. San Francisco
- Logged the first turnover of the Bears season after scooping up a forced fumble by defensive back Jaylon Johnson, finished the afternoon vs. the 49ers with four tackles (all solo) and one tackle for loss in addition to the fumble recovery
- Played every defensive snap in Week 2, finishing with 10 combined tackles (seven solo)
- Tied for third on the team in tackles against Houston in Week 3, finishing with six combined tackles (four solo)
- In Week 4 at New York, finished with five total tackles (four solo), including his first NFL sack, bringing down quarterback Daniel Jones for a loss of 11 yards with 3:35 remaining in the third quarter
- Became the first Bears rookie defensive back to get to the quarterback in a game since Bryce Callahan did so on Jan. 3, 2016 vs. Detroit
- Finished with five combined tackles (four solo) in Week 5 at Minnesota
- In Week 6, got to Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz in their opening drive in the first quarter (10:00), the first sack of the game for the Bears
- Was his second sack of the season, and he's the first Bears defensive back to record multiple sacks in their rookie season since Al Afalava, who did so in 2009
- Finished with five combined tackles (two solo) in addition to the sack ... In Week 7 at New England, logged his first career interception, picking off Patriots quarterback Mac Jones on a 2nd and 10 with 13:08 remaining in the second quarter to give the Bears their first takeaway of the evening
- Became the first Bears defensive back since Eddie Jackson (two, 2017) to record a pick during their rookie campaign
- Ended the night with seven combined tackles (five solo) and one pass defensed in addition to the pick
- Finished second on the team with nine combined tackles (seven solo) and a sack against the Cowboys in Week 8
- Got to quarterback Dak Prescott with 4:08 remaining in the fourth quarter, which is the third sack of his rookie campaign
- Becomes the first Bears defensive back with three or more sacks in a season since Mike Green and Mike Brown both did so during the 2001 season
- Logged four solo tackles against the Dolphins in Week 9
- Finished second on the team with seven combined tackles (five solo) against Detroit in Week 10
- Recorded seven tackles, one forced fumble and one TFL at Atlanta in Week 11
- Returned to the starting lineup vs. Philadelphia in Week 15 and recorded five solo tackles
- Brought down Bills quarterback Josh Allen in Week 16 for his fourth sack of the season with 8:52 left in the second quarter
- It's the third time in Bears franchise history that a defensive back has logged four or more sacks in a season, joining Dave Duerson (7.0 sacks, 1986) and Todd Bell (4.5 sacks, 1984)
- Finished second on the team with eight combined (six solo) tackles at Detroit in Week 17
- Recorded double-digit tackles for the third time in his rookie campaign, compiling 10 combined stops (five solo) vs. Minnesota in Week 18
- Ended the season with 104 tackles (73 solo), both of which are the second-most on the team
- Those 73 solo tackles are also the third-most amongst all rookies at the conclusion of the regular season
