The Bears on Saturday downgraded quarterback Andy Dalton from questionable to doubtful for Sunday's home game against the Lions, meaning that rookie Justin Fields is expected to make his second straight start.
Dalton was limited in practice all week due to a knee injury he sustained Sept. 19 in a Week 2 win over the Bengals. Fields was a full participant in practice all week despite a right thumb injury he suffered late in last Sunday's 26-6 loss to the Browns.
Fields made his first NFL start in Cleveland, completing 6 of 20 passes for 68 yards while being sacked nine times. With Dalton not expected to play, veteran Nick Foles would serve as the Bears' No. 2 quarterback for the second straight week.
