Pro Bowl Postcards 2025: Jaylon Johnson | Sunday, Feb. 2
As told to Gabby Hajduk
Hey Bears fans,
It's two-time Pro Bowl Games winner Jaylon Johnson checking back in with y'all. My NFC teammates and I just wrapped up another dub here in Orlando to defend our Pro Bowl title. The win feels good and we're all just having a great time out here in Florida.
There was no doubt we were gonna get the win again this year. We started off the day in the lead from the Skills Showdown and after the first quarter today, we knew it was over. We were all over it this week and it was only right we finished strong.
Our whole team balled out, but our MVP was definitely [Cowboys receiver] KaVontae Turpin. Lil Turp was going crazy. He came out on defense, and no one expected him to do that. He was getting us some sacks, putting pressure on them behind the line and just causing some havoc. That was big for us on defense.
Honestly one of my favorite parts of the day was the punting competition. That was so fun to watch and probably the biggest surprise of the games. It was cool to just see the skill and the punters' true accuracy. I would never be able to do something like that.
The one moment I want back was near the end of the fourth quarter when we failed on the one-point conversion. The game was locked at that point and I just wanted to have some extreme fun, so I asked to go on offense as a receiver. I was trying to get active out there, but Baker [Mayfield] threw it a little behind me before I was able to set my feet. I need that one back.
Today was just a really fun time. It's fun to be out on the field with guys you see throughout the league or guys you see again from last year's Pro Bowl. I got to play opposite of [Vikings cornerback] Byron Murphy who I've known since high school. Used to see him at Nike camps, so it was fun being here with him.
There was some Chicago love out here today with Hall of Famer Devin Hester on the sideline. We took a picture, showed some love and it was cool for him to be out here supporting me and the Bears. All the fans love him and all he's done for the game.
I want to give a shout out to the Bears fans that have showed loved to me and the guys this season. I really appreciate all the grace and support. It means a lot to me to rep the Bears out at the Pro Bowl and I'm looking forward to keeping the streak alive. I want to continue to do that for a long time in my career. I know we're gonna get some more guys out here real soon.
I appreciate all the love this season and I'm grateful to be wrapping up my fifth season with a Pro Bowl win.
I'll see you all soon!
