pickens-injury-update-2024-week-1

Bears defensive tackle Zacch Pickens has been ruled out of Sunday's season opener against the Titans with a groin injury that prevented him from practicing Friday.

"He's still working through some of the stuff there, soft tissue and it's positive," said coach Matt Eberflus. "It's looking good. It's just not ready for right now."

Defensive end Darrell Taylor also did not practice Friday and is listed as questionable with a foot injury.

"He got stepped on [Thursday] on his foot," Eberflus said. "We'll work him out [Saturday], we'll work him [before] the game and we'll see where he is at that point."

Receiver Keenan Allen (heel) was a full participant in Friday's practice after being limited Wednesday and Thursday. He is listed as questionable, but Eberflus said: "His outlook looks great."

Defensive end Montez Sweat (toe) also practiced without restrictions Friday after being limited the previous two days. He is questionable, but Eberflus said that Sweat "looks good."

Defensive end DeMarcus Walker (groin) is questionable after being limited in practice Thursday and Friday.

For the Titans, safety Jamal Adams (hip) and linebacker Otis Reese (concussion) have been ruled out of Sunday's game, while receiver DeAndre Hopkins (knee) and cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (calf) are questionable after being limited in practice Friday.
