Injury Update: Allen, Odunze questionable for Sunday Night Football in Houston

Receivers Keenan Allen (heel) and Rome Odunze (knee) are questionable for the Bears' Sunday night matchup with the Texans in Houston.

"We're going to take it all the way up to the game to see if they can go," coach Matt Eberflus told reporters Friday.

Allen did not practice at all this week, while Odunze participated for the first time Friday in a limited capacity.

"It was just something that happened in training camp with the heel," Eberflus said of Allen's injury. "That was really it, so it's just been progressing, then it took a step back, then we just wanted to give it some rest. That's really what the idea of this week was — just to rest and let it heal and let it feel good so we're able to move and cut and do the things he does."

Odunze suffered an MCL sprain during last week's season opener against the Titans. Eberflus told reporters Wednesday the rookie was day-to-day.

"Limited work today," Odunze said of Friday's practice. "Felt good. Just trying to get back to being myself out there and that's the only product I want to put out on the field, so today was a little bit of a test of that and it felt good, so we'll see what happens moving forward."

Defensive lineman DeMarcus Walker (foot) is also listed as questionable for Sunday. Walker, who played 83% of the defensive snaps last Sunday, did not practice Wednesday and was limited Thursday before participating in full Friday.

Offensive lineman Ryan Bates (shoulder/elbow) and fullback Khari Blasingame (hand/knee) have been been ruled out for Sunday's game. Both players were limited in Wednesday's practice but did not participate Thursday or Friday.

Eberflus told reporters that with Bates out, Nate Davis will play right guard after the pair rotated last Sunday.

"[Davis] had a really consistent practice this week and was really on it in terms of run and pass, in terms of his responsibilities and technique," Eberflus said. "I thought he really improved this week."

Rookie offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie (quad) and defensive tackle Zacch Pickens (groin) were limited earlier in the week, but do not have injury designations for Sunday night.

For the Texans, safety M.J. Stewart (knee) has been ruled out while running back Dameon Pierce (hamstring) and center Juice Scruggs (groin) are both questionable after not practicing Friday.
